Shannon is an alumna of the Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Writing Program and the Geffen Playhouse Veterans Performance Workshop.
Shannon’s comedy pilot BLACK MARKET SPERM placed in the Top 10% at the Slamdance Film Festival Screenwriting Competition. Her feature screenplay EVERY REASON received an 8 on the Black List and was honored as a semi-finalist for the AITAF Bridge Award for Screenwriting. Her pilot script DREAMSCAPE was recently honored as a semi-finalist for the 2021 Screencraft
Sci-Fi/Fantasy Screenwriting competition.

Shannon currently writes educational articles about the art and business of screenwriting for WeScreenplay.
She has extensive experience writing and producing military stories, with bylines in Business Insider, ATTN:, and Military.com. She has written and hosted hundreds of informational videos about military trivia for We Are The Mighty, where she worked as Executive Editor and Senior Director of Digital Video Production. Her content — including articles, videos, and social media posts — has reached tens of millions of viewers across the globe.
Her short film Library Soulmate was an official selection at New Filmmakers Los Angeles and the Nomadic International Film Festival, where it was nominated for OUTSTANDING FILM.
Shannon’s comedy sketch Truth or Dare made waves with its female-positive sexual content — and won the Indi.com comedy competition. To this day, this film continues to reflect Shannon’s comedy stylings: focusing on uplifting women while pushing some boundaries just enough that she’ll share it with her grandmother but not without a warning!
